27th May 2007
Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: 20-30 knots
Surf / Sea State: Flat
Air Temperature: 9ºC
Sea Temperature: 12ºC
Weather: Cloudy
Max Speed: 33.8 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 36.8 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Started out with only just enough wind for my S-Type and 6.7m sail but it soon filled in.

At first Impi was much faster than me with his more powerful cammed sail getting him up and flying earlier than my less than gutsy 6.7m freestyle sail. Impi was soon up to almost 30 knots whilst I was struggling at 27.3 knots. The wind filled in and soon I was up to 29.6 knots and Impi had broken the 30 knot barrier.

The wind continued to increase so we came in and changed to smaller fins and things started hotting up. 31 knots was soon beaten and then Impi managed 32.9 knots. I then took the lead with 33.1 knots but once Impi heard of that he went out and set a 33.5 knots, which seemed to be the top for the day... However I then hit 33.8 knots and thought I had him beat but Impi then but in an extra special run and hit a pretty impressive 34.8 knots... Grrrrr, beaten by a whole knot!.. Time for a cambered sail I think and maybe a small slalom board too!
